Job description: What is the opportunity?

As a strong contributor to strategic priorities for Canadian Banking (CB) and CB Operations, you will partner with Commercial Account Managers (CAM) in support of the credit renewal process for
$2MM TSNE files. You will manage a portfolio of accounts within the Agriculture industry. You will deliver superior client service and structure transactions with a client centric approach. You will develop strong partnerships with CAMs, Financing Specialists and Business Service Centres (BSC), to optimize the internal process and improve effectiveness.

PLEASE NOTE: There is flexibility to base this position out of any of Nationwide CAG office locations

What will you do?

  • Review and establish clients’ BRR, ensuring credit structures mitigate credit risks while providing a superior client experience
  • Provide quality business analysis for existing clients, meet and exceed client turn around expectations on new/increased credit requests/renewals
  • Apply enterprise solutions that can be leveraged to improve the client experience and maximize opportunity spotting to enhance client retention and referrals
  • Manage the credit renewal process effectively, to enable CAMs to have more client facing time
  • Collaborate, coach and mentor CAMs, service partners and others to meet the needs of clients and develop specialized knowledge to better support CAMs and their clients
  • Prioritize and balance client needs and risk effectively, ensuring CAMs are informed of any changes in review schedules
  • Exercise due diligence and identify risk issues and take proactive action to mitigate risk
  • Influence portfolio quality through credit risk assessment, strategic assessment and proactive management of expired credits

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • Small Business or Commercial lending/credit experience
  • Strong experience in analysing company financial statements
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills
  • Capacity to manage work volumes to meet deadlines

Nice-to-have

  • Commercial Account Management and/or Commercial Adjudication experience
  • Agriculture industry experience
  • Business degree or CFA
