We are looking for a Commincation and Education Manager

In this role you will be responsible to facilitate retirement education session(s) for new plan members as well as ongoing member communication and education activities. The incumbent promotes the benefits of joining a group plan and is key at acquiring and maximizing member level transfers and increasing contributions. When fully trained, this position will have advanced level knowledge of the group retirement business. The successful candidate will form part of the GRS member communication and education team and will work through this team to update and improve content of GRS standard sessions. In support of the National Service Strategy, you will be required to create special education presentations and develop education and communication strategies to maximize engagement and participation in the retirement plan. A key measure of success in this role will be the retention of client assets, increasing membership/contributions and the transfer of assets from other financial institutions.

What you will do

  • Primary focus on educating and servicing all clients within the National Service Program
  • Create and execute annual communication and education plans for strategic clients in the region
  • Incumbent must manage sessions with emphasis on time and cost management (travel budget)
  • Work with Plan Sponsors to emphasize and encourage high plan member enrolment
  • Create and deliver member presentation and written communication within GRD marketing guidelines and observing market conduct issues
  • Actively support the implementation process and develops member communication & education strategies
  • Works closely with Client Relationship Manager to ensure appropriate educational sessions and communications are provided to client set as per the National Service Program
  • Participate in finalist meetings to describe your role & value added education services you provide to members under CAP guidelines
  • Works as part of a team to update and improve content of Group Retirement Services standard sessions.
  • Contributes to the growth of the average assets per member

What you will bring

  • Must have group retirement experience with a background in the financial services industry
  • Education and skills acquired through a specialized university degree e.g. Communications, Marketing, Business specialization
  • Retirement Planning Associate Designation (CEBS) (to obtain within 24 months of hire)
  • Customer service focus with an ability to build strong relationships with clients, our broker / advisor community and consultants or plan sponsors
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with an emphasis on negotiation skills
  • Superior presentation skills with a proven ability to present investment and retirement planning topics to pension committees, plans sponsors and group audiences
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to fluctuating work volumes while working independently
  • Quick thinking and innovative
  • Proficiency using Microsoft PowerPoint, Word and Excel
