Job description: The Ontario Professional Planners Institute (OPPI) currently has an opening for an Education & Community Events Coordinator. The individual in this role coordinates all event logistics to achieve OPPI’s goals with respect to the Annual Conference, one-day forums and/or events, and all virtual and/or in-person classroom learning held at OPPI headquarters. Additionally, the individual acts as the liaison to OPPI Districts as they implement their annual program plans and budgets. Representing approximately 4,000 practicing planners across the province and 500 student members, our members work for government, private industry, community agencies, and academic institutions. OPPI is the recognized voice of the province’s planning profession, providing leadership on policy related to planning, development, the environment, and related issues. Principal responsibilities and duties: * ** *** **** Supports the Education & Community Manager and Project Team in the planning and execution of the annual conference and related events including venue liaison, call for submissions platform set-up, logistical support in program creation, registration system set-up, food &beverage/banquet event orders, accommodations, A/V and online conference vendor, exhibitor management, transportation, scheduling, set-up/takedown coordination. **** Supports the Education Team by coordinating all logistical matters of virtual and onsite learning events at OPPI headquarters including registration, badging, catering, and room set-up/takedown. **** Supports the Education Team in other in-person events such as one-day forums, receptions, and open houses. **** Maintains regular communications with District leaders via meetings, e-mail and through online communities. **** Supports OPPI Districts with volunteer onboarding, annual planning & budgeting, administrative support, logistics and marketing of District activities, and execution of District events. **** Develops and manages project timelines and budgets for all events at provincial and district level. **** Delivers first-class experiences and high-touch service levels for all events. **** Other duties as required OPPI is committed to fair and equitable recruiting practices in accordance with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disability Act (AODA).
