Job description: Your Opportunity:

Home Care Health Care Aides provide service to clients in the lodges & their homes in Grande Prairie & surrounding area. This position is currently assigned to a Lodge but could be subject to change as required. You must be a certified Health Care Aide and be registered with the Alberta Health Care Aide Directory. Experience in seniors’ health is an asset. Candidate must be willing to change assignment as needed to service facility and community clients. You must have a valid driver’s license and be comfortable driving in all-weather/road conditions. You must have a reliable vehicle with business insurance for work purposes. You must be willing to work alone and/or with limited supervision. You must be willing to work Days/ Evenings/ Nights/ Weekends/ Stats and both short and long shifts. We are looking for a candidate who has a positive approach both with clients and peers. In addition to a competitive rate of pay, AHS currently has a Remote Retention Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $3,000. This allowance is non-pensionable and is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay.

Description:

As a Health Care Aide (HCA), you are responsible for providing personal assistance, supporting activities of daily living and providing comfort and support services to patients (clients, residents) who require short-term assistance or ongoing support. You will work closely with patients, families, and caregivers spanning the continuum of care in home, community or health care facilities. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

Required Qualifications:

Active directory status on the Alberta Health Care Aide Directory. Must provide a confirmation letter as proof of enrolment from the Directory at https://www.albertahcadirectory.com/health-care-aides/confirmation/. Nursing students currently enrolled in an approved Alberta nursing program who have successfully completed a minimum of 100 hours of practicum; and are either in their 1st year of practical nursing program; or 2nd year of baccalaureate nursing or psychiatric nursing program will be considered. Must attest to this compliance and provide proof of qualification. Additional Required Qualifications:

Current CPR. At least 1 years’ experience dealing with all entire age spectrum including seniors. Preferred Qualifications:

Supportive Pathways/P.I.E.C.E.S course. Palliative Care course/experience. NVCI course. It’s Your Move course. Medication Assistance Program (MAP). Foot care course/experience.
