Job description: Our established food client, located in Hamilton, has an immediate opening for a Logistics & Supply Chain Coordinator – Manufacturing. This fast-paced position would best suit someone with experience in inventory control, managing customer orders and production schedules, coordinating the in-bound shipment of raw materials to meet production schedules, and communicating with internal departments (sales, customer service, warehouse and logistics) regarding the timely production, fulfillment and shipment of customer orders. Manufacturing industry experience is required.

Responsibilities:

  • Entering daily production and updating the Monthly Production Report
  • Ensures the shipment of raw materials are available to meet production demands
  • Enters customer orders accurately into Excel production spreadsheet
  • Regularly updates customer forecasts and schedules
  • Communicates with appropriate departments to ensure customer orders are produced and available for shipping on time
  • Keeps Sales and Operations managers aware of issues or concerns regarding scheduling and capacity
  • Keeps account coordinators advised of any changes, delays, other, that may affect customer orders
  • Coordinates with shippers the movement of pallets to/from outside warehouse
  • Initiates the use of aged/slow moving inventory
  • Assists with physical inventory counts and reconciliation

Job Requirements

  • 3-5 years of relevant supply chain experience from MANUFACTURING
  • Post-secondary education
  • Strong computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and ERP experience (SAP preferred)
  • Excellent written/verbal communication skills; can perform mathematical calculations with ease and accuracy
  • Demonstrated organizational skills, able to multi-task and prioritize
  • Works well within a team environment – cooperative and helpful
  • Manages time and deadlines effectively and efficiently
  • Motivated, consistently shows initiative
  • Able to work without constant direct supervision, autonomous
