Position Summary
Interior Health is seeking a permanent full time Data Quality Analyst, Health Records Coding to join the Health Information Management, Health Record Services team. The location for this position is flexible within these sites: Kelowna, Kamloops, Vernon, Penticton or Trail.
This position provides guidance and support to Health Information Practitioner coding staff (HIM Coders), the Health Record Services Leadership Team and other stakeholders with regard to coding and data quality for database/systems such as; Discharge Abstract Database (DAD) and National Ambulatory Care Reporting System (NACRS) while ensuring that coding standards, productivity monitoring processes and data quality efforts are consistent with the goals and objectives of Health Information Management.
This position works closely with the Health Record Services Leadership Team, HIM Coders, Strategic Information, Administration, Physicians and other Clinicians to respond to inquiries about Health Records coding data quality and make recommendations for quality improvement.

Qualifications
Education, Training and Experience:
- Graduation from a recognized program for Health Information Practitioners, plus Five (5) years of recent, related experience in coding inpatient and surgical day care records in an acute care tertiary or regional hospital setting.
- Two (2) years of experience working as a data analyst or data quality analyst or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- Completion of additional training in data analysis or data quality analysis from the Canadian Health Information Management Association (CHIMA), CHA and/or any other accredited institute that offers Health Information Practitioner, data analysis or quality courses.
- Certified by the Canadian College of Health Information Management as a certificant, and eligible for active membership with CHIMA.
