Job description: Strohmaier Excavating Ltd. is a Chilliwack based civil construction company with a solid reputation and a proud, successful, history of over 40 years that provides a safe, healthy, and positive work environment for all our employees. We are currently seeking to hire reliable, and motivated “Civil Construction Heavy Equipment Operators” with a minimum of 5+ years excavation experience in a civil construction environment wanting to work in Chilliwack and the Lower Fraser Valley area. Experience in roadworks, earthworks, and underground utilities is a must.

Requirements:

• Demonstrated ability to operate excavators, loaders, and backhoes safely and efficiently in a civil construction environment.
• Knowledge of equipment maintenance.
• Safety conscious and detail oriented.
• Good interpersonal skills; ability to effectively communicate with supervisors, foremen, and other team members in a positive and professional manner.
• Must have a valid Class 5 driver’s license.

Responsibilities:

• Operate all equipment with a high level of safety and professionalism.
• Perform daily pre-operational inspections.
• Adhere to all workplace safety regulations, policies, and compliances.
• Complete all required paperwork.

The ideal candidate will be a self-driven and highly motivated individual with an aptitude to exercise good judgement, ability to work alone at times, and is willing to work in all weather conditions. A dependable individual who possesses a strong knowledge of safety practices, shows initiative, and is mechanically inclined. First Aid is an asset.
