As part of the Trillium project based in Ottawa and on behalf of LiUNA Local 527, we are seeking a variety of Construction Workers to assist our Civil and Rail division in all activities related to construction.
Positions to fill:
Trackman B – Some work experience on railways
General Labourer’s – Assist in cleanup, set up and general Labour duties
Trackman ‘A’
Must be qualified in current operating and safety rules of railroad companies.
Must be familiar with hand tools and their use.
Must be able to operate the following and similar hand and power tools
o Rail Saw
o Drill
o Bolting Machine
o Track Jack
o Spike Puller
o Spike Driver
o Rail Grinder
o Rail Shear
o Torch
o Thermite Welding
o Vibratool Tamper
o Compactor 100 HP and under
- Must be able to unload ballast
- Must be familiar with rail sections and accessories and correct installation procedure
- Must be familiar with switch installation, layout and construction and must be able to do switch adjustment
