Job description: Dengarry Professional Services Ltd. has an exciting opportunity in our Community Inclusion Programs, and Residential Program in our Kamloops area for those interested in a healthy, active, team approach work environment. Qualifications:

Education and Experience

• Grade 12 Diploma
• Post Secondary Education is favorable
• Human Service Worker /Developmental Disabilities/CASS Certificate
• Mandt’s (non-violent crisis intervention) training or equivalent
• Or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Ability to work within the designated setting
• Ability to work all designated shift patterns, including evenings and weekends
• Ability to meet requirements of the Residence Worker, and Community Support Worker Job Descriptions
• Demonstrated experience in providing residential services to adults with developmental disability and complex needs in home and community settings
• Good written and verbal communication skills, especially in regards to reporting
• Demonstrated ability to teach skills and work effectively with others
• Knowledge of theory, principles, and practices in the field
• Good time and general management skills
• Ability to communicate effectively with individuals, families, agencies and coworkers
• Active listening skills
• Experience working with individuals with Autism
• Experience with FASD
• Experience in implementing behavior support plans
• Computer proficiency

Starting Wage is based on education and experience. A full benefit package is available (MSP, Extended Health, Dental, Life insurance, LTD, Pension etc.)

Dengarry Professional Services Ltd. was founded in 1987 with the aim of providing residential, life skill and employment suppport to adults with Developmental Disabilities. Originally based out of Quesnel, our organization now provides services to communities throughout central and northern British Columbia.
