Job description: What is the opportunity?
As the Senior Data Analyst, you will be responsible for process and data analysis on medium to large size projects. The main responsibility will be to derive solutions based on Data Science, Data Modeling, and deep data analysis using Artificial Intelligence, Automation and process mapping. The role also includes responsibility for the execution of all aspects of requirements, gathering, planning, elicitation, analysis and documentation. You will identify business problems and opportunities in the context of the requirements and recommend solutions that enable the organization to achieve its goals. Using the broad spectrum of tools and approaches available at RBC, the Data Analyst will define the solutions to meet sponsor/stakeholder needs. You will be required to always be conscious and considerate of the most effective change management approach and looking to optimize business value by recommending well thought out and researched solutions.
What will you do?
- Preform stakeholder analysis to identify impacted or influencing groups
- Plan data analysis work and develop execution estimates, continuously improving the accuracy of the estimates
- Manage constraints, assumptions, and risks for requirements, and communicate to appropriate parties.
- Lead requirements prioritization and leverage techniques to drive out business value.
- Collaborating with business users to understand their challenges with data and being able to solve those challenges by leveraging business systems and technology
- Lead data driven discussions to help business to determine potential improvements and perform Top-down process analysis
- Study best practices from industry knowledge base and document Risk Management related Policies, Procedures and Standards
- Working closely with data scientists, data owners and stewards, software developers, project managers, and systems testers to translate data governance requirements into successful technical deliveries
- Identifying business processes, roles within those processes, and developing workflow diagrams with multiple swim lanes
- Developing business requirements documents, requirements traceability documents, test cases and test scripts using Microsoft Office or other industry standard tools
What do you need to succeed?
Must have:
- Relevant college or university degree
- Understanding of Cyber Security
- Data Science or Data Analytics background
- Working experience with data programming: Python, R, SQL, HTML, CSS
- Strong MS Office skills – Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint
Nice to have:
- Lean Six Sigma certification
- Python or R programming
- Experience or understanding of open-source software frameworks (Hadoop), data visualization tools (Tableau), and databases (SQL and/or VBA)
