Our Canadian division is located in Cambridge, Ontario.

We are looking for a Secondary Operator to add to our afternoon team! This individual will be working straight afternoons from 3:30pm to 2:00am Monday to Thursdays.

This is a 12 month contract with an opportunity for full time after.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensures all safety devices are in proper placement before operating any equipment
  • Applies safe workplace practices in material handling and machine operation
  • Set up and operate Secondary area related equipment ensuring all product throughout is correct
  • Visually inspects product for defects and ensures defective product is brought to the attention of team leader, supervisor, manager
  • Inspects and assesses the general condition of equipment during the production run
  • Reports problems and makes routine adjustments as required and/or authorized by Supervisor
  • Continually inspects parts for high quality and records applicable information as required
  • Uses computer to accurately enter all Company required information (ex. clocking in/out, labour entry, etc)
  • Effectively trains others on the safe operation of Secondary area related equipment
  • Follows all policies and procedures as detailed in process documents, immediately brings to the attention of Supervisor any discrepancies or opportunities for improvement
  • Demonstrates innovation and initiative to improve safety, quality, productivity, profitability and efficiency
  • Accomplish daily routine upkeep chores as described on checklists for equipment
  • Attends all company specified training
  • Maintains a clean and organized work area at all times
  • Other duties as assigned within the general scope of manufacturing

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a high volume manufacturing environment
  • Must have attention to detail
  • Must have basic English and Math skills
  • Must have basic mechanical, measurement and computer skills
  • Basic knowledge of an ISO/TS environment
