Job title: General Helper (Mechanical)

Job description: The General Helper (Mechanical) will perform a variety of tasks on the shop floor and machine shop, assisting toolmakers.

QUALIFICATIONS:

· Grade 12 education or equivalent required

· Previous tooling/machine shop experience an asset

· Good communication skills

· Own tools is an asset

· Ability to work as a team member and individually

· Crane and Forklift License an asset

· Safety Shoes are required

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Assist toolmakers and machine fitters

· Operate various machines, tools and equipment

· Assist with drilling, sawing, painting etc.

· Communicate necessary information to Assistant Supervisor and co-workers from shift to shift

· Perform assigned tasks in a safe manner and know how to properly lock out all energy sources, including stored energy

· Consult your Supervisor/Assistant Supervisor if you are not 100% sure of how to perform tasks in a safe manner

· Follow all safety rules, standards and procedures at all times in all areas

The shifts available are:

· Monday – Friday 7:00am to 3:15pm with overtime available on Saturday and Sunday.

· Afternoon 10 hr shift available Monday – Thursday 3pm to 1am with overtime available Friday, and Saturday.
