Our client, a blue-chip, top tier Canadian franchise is looking for a General Manager to lead their management team in operating their multi-department store in Timmins, Ontario. The General Manager will be responsible for building and managing a team to effectively achieve sales growth, retail execution, customer experience and profitability. The ideal candidate will have seasoned management and people development skills.

What the General Manager does:
- Encourages and maintains a culture that values an excellent customer experience; utilizes effective training, supervision, coaching and performance management to achieve this objective
- Recruits, develops, motivates, recognizes and holds the Management Team accountable to meet objectives and targets for sales and profitability in their respective departments
- Prioritizes customer needs and maintains realistic expectations by managing on task delivery informed by retail metrics
- Manages and responds to formal inquiries and complaints to ensure continued customer satisfaction and loyalty
- Recognizes team members who go above and beyond to provide an excellent customer experience
- Implements and provides training on store policies and procedures that ensure a high-quality customer experience and a safe work environment
- Collaborates with team members and the management team to successfully meet objective and targets
- Monitors and improves the productivity of the management team through strong communication, motivation, team building and effective scheduling
- Organizes and leads regular Management and team meetings.
- Constantly reviews processes and procedures to ensure excellent retail execution, customer experience, sales and profitability
- Coaches and encourages Department Managers on learning new management and leadership skills
- Regularly provides informal and constructive feedback
What the successful candidate will bring:
- Leadership and senior managerial experience in retail or a similar industry
- Excellent knowledge and understanding of retail and financial principles
- Excellent knowledge of market trends and competition in the retail and automotive service industry
- 5+ years of experience retail sales, retail execution and operations in a management role is required
- Good working knowledge of each department’ s products and functions
- Ability to understand and operate POS and inventory computer systems
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate others to uphold superior customer service
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
