Job description: Please note: This posting is for a 4-month Student Summer 2022 placement with a start date of May 2022, and end-date of August 2022. In order to be eligible for this 4-month Student position, you must either:

  • Be returning back to school after the work term end-date of August 2022; or
  • If you are not returning back to school (i.e. are graduating in August 2022), you must require the work term as a mandatory component to in order to graduate successfully.

What is the opportunity?

The purpose of this role is to provide technical support to brokers and clients on technical or non-technical inquiries on behalf of the Insurance Sales Technology Service Desk, and to provide a central point of contact to ensure broker technology and online insurance services are delivered efficiently and effectively to the business.

What will you do?

  • Accountable for consultation and issue resolution as first point of inquiry/escalation and problem resolution for all provisioning/procurement activities.
  • Assisting brokers and clients with technology inquiries relating to, but not limited to, sales tools, and online insurance
  • Level 2 analyst to assist with complex service request issues and request.
  • Excellent relationship building and collaboration within the team as well as technology and finance teams
  • Analyzing and devising monthly reports on different types of inquiries for improvement as well as Understanding and dissecting issue logs, their trends and their significance.
  • Use pre-defined procedures to ensure requests for user access and permissions are assigned to the correct fulfillment groups; ensure timely follow-up and closure of access requests as well as storing all email communication for the purpose of historical or audit investigation
  • Assist in projects/investigations as assigned as well as gather project requirements from stakeholders; assist with solution implementation and testing

What will you need to succeed?

Must have

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Operating systems and windows based applications
  • Technical proficiency to understand general inquiries for redirection
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Problem identification and problem solving skills and experience

Nice to have

  • Persuing a University or College Degree in Computer Science or a related field
  • Bilingual, English and French
