Previous job-site experience is required, working knowledge of both Architectural and Structural drawings is a must, and an understanding of construction methods, tools, and equipment. Responsibilities:

Run hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment such as survey equipment, jackhammers, and forklifts as required
Follow all directions of the construction manager, and work with other team members to complete construction projects accurately
Support craft workers (painters, electricians, carpenters, roofers, plasterers), sub-contractors, and other tradesmen as needed
Transfer, carry, and unload tools and building materials such as sheetrock, lumber, tile, saws, grout, etc.
Dismantle old structures, and build temporary structures such as signs, cones, barricades, ramps, and other devices to control traffic around the construction site

Qualifications:

Experience working on a construction site, understanding of blueprints and construction plans, and knowledge of construction tools, methods, and equipment is required
This position relies on physical strength and stamina
Able to work in inclement weather like extreme temperatures, rain, etc.
Solid mechanical skills are needed, as are good eye-hand coordination and depth perception
Own a valid driver’s license
High school diploma or equivalent is required – Associate’s degree, trade certification, and/or completed apprenticeship program is highly preferred
