Service Shop Technician (Bike Assembly/Customer Service – Part Time) – Sport Chek
As a Service Shop Technician you will provide exceptional customer service, equipment advice and servicing to all customers. A crucial member of our team, you will work both behind the scenes and in a customer-facing capacity assessing, diagnosing and providing recommendations for the maintenance and serving of equipment and products.
What you’ll do
Customer Service:
- Understands and delivers on the complete customer; answer all incoming calls, handle complaints professionally, provide direction to those requiring assistance
- Acknowledge every customer at the service desk, greeting customers, identify their needs, and provide assistance in suggesting suitable service
- When required, perform sales duties on the sales floor
Operations (Service and Sales Support):
- Responsible for providing high quality work servicing equipment including; completion of proper documentation, work orders, tagging standards for receiving, servicing and returning customer’s products, ensuring the safety of our customers
- Provide appropriate quotes for services provided
- Completes all services including skate sharpening, profiling, holder and runner installation, and product repair
- Ensure an organized and clean pro shop environment
- Assist store teams with merchandise restocking and maintenance, sale set up (POP., tagging of merchandise, merchandising) in preparation for events as required and assist in preparation of annual inventory
- Follows and executes on all corporate policies and procedures including OH&S and LP
- Undertake any other related duties as required
Training:
- Be current on technology advances in categories we sell and/or service
- Complete all required training on shop equipment for safe operation

What you bring
- High School education
- Previous retail experience would be an asset
- Demonstrated knowledge of sporting equipment is essential; certification in sports equipment service an asset
- Previous participation in sports an asset
