A well-established company in Saint-Laurent with over 200 employees is seeking a Project Manager to manage full-scale projects working on a mechanical subtrade in the construction process for commercial, industrial, and multi-unit residential construction projects throughout the Greater Montreal region.

The role will be working in the Saint-Laurent office and going on site for client meetings. They offer a competitive salary, full benefits, and a very amicable working environment, where employees are happy and there is very low turnover. This role is actually open due to a senior member on the team going into retirement in which case the selected candidate will be inheriting a full portfolio of construction projects to manage.

Responsibilities:

– Managing several projects, respecting deadlines and budgets
– Ensuring plants and tender specifications meet construction standards
– Working with the operations team to establish the projects scope and work rates
– Participating in planning meetings with Project Coordinators
– Establishing the project schedule and scope
– Validating technical specification and approvals
– Prioritizing tasks for projects accordingly
– Overseeing the ordering of project materials
– Staying up to date on the progress and budgets throughout the project
– Managing any project changes in work and cost estimation
– Ensuring timely delivery on projects and overseeing any related documentation

Qualifications:

– At least 2 years’ experience in project management within the mechanical subtrade
– Fluency in English and French with very good communication skills in both languages
– Education in a related field such as in Project management or a Civil or Mechanical engineering diploma or degree is required
– Knowledge of construction codes and standards (strong asset)
– Technically savvy to work with MS Office Suite and project management software
– Organization, ability to multitask, manage priorities, and meet deadlines within a fast-paced, dynamic environment
