MATRIX is currently seeking an organized individual that can handle multiple tasks at hand and prioritize based on sense of urgency (Logistics Coordinator). You will be responsible for the organization, storage, and distribution of goods and people to our client’s worksites. The Logistics Coordinator would report to the General Manager. This is a fulltime permanent position located in Terrace, BC.
Responsibilities:
- Strategically plan and manage logistics, warehouse, transportation and client services as it related to the transportation of people and supplies to client worksites.
- Coach, mentor and develop staff, including overseeing new employee orientation and providing career development planning and opportunities.
- Manage the overall operational and activities of the logistics department.
- Plan and allocate resources to effectively staff and accomplish the work to meet corporate logistic, productivity and quality goals.
- Purchase supplies and create PO’s as per corporate protocols.
- Liaise with camps for delivery of goods, services, and people.
- Ensure all staff work safely and practice safe work practices.
- Submit timesheets for all Matrix staff that work on or out of the Terrace location.
- Ensure transportation protocol is followed by all drivers.
- Track driver logs to ensure billable hours are captured.
- Work independently and handle multiple projects.
- Schedule staff based on the needs of the business.
- Ensure corporate timeline are met which may include hands on support to the team.
- Communicate regularly with other managers, and/or designated contacts within the organization.
Required Knowledge & Experience
- Must be a quick learner, think on your feet attitude, and can make decisions on the fly
- Above average Microsoft Office skillset.
- Strong computer literacy
- Previous experience working in the exploration would be an asset
Preferred Licensing & Certifications:
- Valid Class 1 & 5 Driver’s License
- Standard First Aid Level 1
- Transportation of Dangerous Goods
- WHIMS 2015
