The Township of Langley is currently recruiting for a regular full-time Manager, Special Projects to join our team of professionals in the Engineering Division. Reporting to the General Manager, Engineering and Community Development, in this exempt position you will be responsible for planning, design, coordination and overall management of strategic projects and municipal initiatives.

You will work in a multi-disciplinary team environment and manage complex and sensitive projects including preparation of tender documents, requests for proposals, requests for qualifications and other service procurement documents and contracts. This position works with stakeholders, joint venture partners and external agencies to complete plans, refine designs and obtain the necessary approvals, and will appeal to applicants who display exceptional project management and communication skills.

Your education will include a bachelor’s, or masters’, degree in civil engineering, or related field, and registration as a member in good standing and licensed to practice, with the Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia, preferably supplemented with Project Management Professional (PMP) designation; combined with five to seven years’ work experience directly related to managing and administering projects. An equivalent combination of education and experience may also be considered. With excellent project management skills, strong oral and written communication skills, you are enthusiastic, well organized and have thorough knowledge of construction contract law, CCDC documents, public tendering practices, municipal regulations, policies, bylaws and best practices.
