Adecco is currently recruiting for a temporary, part-time Safety Specialist, to work at a well-established energy company majoring in the production of synthetic crude from oil sands. In this diverse role, you will provide field guidance for key SHE activities consistently across Project organization. • Job type: Part-time | Temporary

Duties and Responsibilities: * Monitor and perform Field Inspections

• Ensure Compliance to SH&E standards at field level
• Perform Tool Box talk quality check
• Perform observation tours with project leadership, and do the necessary interventions when needed
• Review and approve contractor JHA and project safety plans
• Provide guidance to project management team to ensure construction methods are compliant with required SHE procedures
• Provide guidance for construction risk assessments and HAZOPS
• Provide oversight to contractors in case of incident to ensure proper reporting and incident management protocols are met, identification of root cause and appropriate mitigating actions
• Assist with reporting when required

Requirements and Qualifications: * High school Diploma or Trade certification is required

• Formal HSE training or Certification (NCSO, CHSEP, CRS or OH&S Certifications) is a must
• Minimum of 10 years of experience as a field safety specialist is needed
• Oil and Gas industry experience is preferred
• Basic Computer skills – Microsoft Word, Excel and Power points are a must
• Strong leadership, safety mind set, and outstanding communication skills are all needed
• Must have good Coaching skills
• Able to work in a team environment
• Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
