About the position:

Acumatica is looking for a Senior Product Manager – Construction with expertise in the commercial and residential construction industries. The product manager must have a passion for understanding the needs of mid-sized business customers and helping Acumatica deliver the requirements.

The Construction Product Manager will help manage the product roadmap and gather feedback by working with Acumatica customers while keeping an eye on competitors and evolving technology. After speaking with stakeholders, the Product Manager will define the market definition, define a 3-year roadmap, contribute to product positioning, and evangelize the construction solution within the Acumatica community.

What the job entails:

Product Planning

• Speak with customers, partners, and internal teams to understand processes related to construction projects including accounting/retainage, commitments, vendor payments, job costing, project budgeting and billing, contracts, daily field reports, compliance, and change orders.
• Drive a solution set across development and marketing teams through market requirements, user and buyer personas, product planning, and communication.
• Write and present product positioning documents.
• Create, maintain, and present external product roadmaps.
• Create business cases for new vertical solutions and ensure senior management is presented with the information necessary to make informed decisions.
• Identify partnership opportunities and participate in build versus buy decisions for filling product gaps.

Market Analysis

• Perform market analysis including research, technology assessment, competitive landscape and analysis, and market problems identification.
• Prepare and present quantitative analysis of the construction market using industry knowledge, competitive analysis, win/loss analysis, product performance, and operational metrics.
• Visit existing Customers and Partners to gather requirements and gain market knowledge.
• Gain knowledge by managing focus groups, community engagement, user groups, and advisory boards.
• Document and present market requirements.

Program Management

• Contribute to construction product pricing.
• Organize customer references, referrals, and retention for the construction product line.
• Participate and deliver events and seminars.
• Ensure sales and partners are properly trained and have discovery documents to ensure market success.
• Become a subject matter expert for construction processes.

Product Launch Readiness

• Execute new product release activities and coordination across the entire organization.
• Identify early adopters and manage the beta release process.
• Review documentation and training materials and provide feedback and guidance to education teams.
• Review output of the Quality Assurance group to ensure the needs of customers, prospects, partners, and markets are built and delivered to a high level of satisfaction.
• Work with marketing to properly message new features in the market by developing sales tools such as videos, fact sheets, data sheets, and more.

• You have 5+ years of product management experience in business applications, in the ERP space.
• You have domain experience in construction vertical markets and construction project management.
• You enjoy spending time in the market to understand how customers use Acumatica and apply that knowledge to build and evangelize innovative solutions.
• You have experience working with cross discipline, geographically dispersed teams.
• You possess a unique blend of business and technical savvy.
• You are detail oriented and organized, with strong decision making and time-management skills.
• You have large company experience that you would like to apply to a smaller team.
• You know how to build an action plan, lay out goals, strategies, tactics, and timelines.
• You are self-driven and realistic about your goals.
• You have exceptional organizational and communication skills.
