The Opportunity
We are currently seeking a Outside Services General Foreman to join our Glencore Sudbury Integrated Nickel Operations in Greater Sudbury, Ontario.
The position will be based in Falconbridge, Ontario.
This is a full-time, staff position.
Duties and Accountabilities:
The Outside Services General Foreman (OSGF) is accountable to the Custom Feed Manager, to ensure that safe and cost-effective outside services activities are executed at the Smelter. This would include managing Day Crew activities, Custom Feed activities as well as contractors associated with material movement and rail & rail car maintenance. The incumbent is directly accountable for Custom Feed receiving, sampling and blending, revert sampling and handling, onsite rail movement, unloading Raglan concentrate, loading product matte and acid, site road and rail and railcar maintenance. Environmental accountabilities include dust management due to storage and handling, manages tire wash and road sweeping and manages baghouses associated with Custom Feed buildings.
The OSGF is accountable for managing the outside services workforce by directing a team of 3 Day Crew Supervisors, 1 Custom Feed Supervisor and 1 Outside Services Supervisor. The OSGF is also accountable for the activities of multiple contractors. The role manages approximately 45 employees and 60 contractors.

Education and Skills
This position requires a post secondary education or equivalent knowledge and experience, and a minimum of 8 years of supervising in an operations role.
The incumbent must possess excellent leadership abilities and superb communication and organizational skills with the ability to manage a variety of functions simultaneously. The incumbent provides regular updates to the senior management team, including issues, production plans and operating strategy during off hours.
