Job title: Project Manager (Construction)
Job description: Purpose:
The Project Manager oversees construction projects for all of Prince Edward Island ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and meet high-quality standards. This role involves close collaboration with the Client Representative and effective management of the project team.
Responsibilities:
Manage project schedules, budgets, and quality to exceed client expectations.
Foster professional relationships with the Client Representative.
Maintain Best Practice guidelines for Site Superintendents.
Ensure Site Superintendents are well-informed of project details.
Handle sub-trade contracts, negotiations, and approvals.
Initiate pre-construction meetings and ensure safety compliance.
Monitor site safety and report any issues.
Visit project sites regularly.
Conduct project status meetings.
Liaise with architects and consultants for approvals.
Manage change order processes efficiently.
Monitor project finances and report anomalies.
Provide project reports.
Coordinate final inspections and occupancy permits.
Complete project close-out requirements.
Prepare and submit close-out reports.
Key Performance Indicators:
Maintain rigorous safety standards.
Meet project schedule and budget goals.
Cultivate positive relationships with stakeholders.
Handle change orders and billing in a timely manner.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (PEng) or construction management/technology diploma/certification.
5+ years of Project Manager experience.
Minimum 5 years’ Canadian work experience.
Strong financial and mathematical analysis skills.
