The Health Link Educator is an in-scope position and is responsible and accountable for staff development activities that support the Health Link (HL) team of professional and non-professional staff across all program areas and business units to acquire knowledge, apply required skills and meet performance standards. Reporting to the Senior Consultant, Learning and Development, this position has a leadership role in the design, delivery and evaluation of all staff education and professional development programs and initiatives. Working independently, the incumbent uses best practices, has in-depth experience in adult learning and a clear understanding of staff needs in order to develop and deliver evidence-based educational programs that contribute to continuous improvement in HL services.
Description:
As an Instructor, you will be an expert practitioner and key educator in support of both nursing staff and the multi-disciplinary clinical team. You will take a leadership role in the planning, coordination, implementation and evaluation of education for nursing staff including orientation, compulsory and continuing education, and clinical development. You will collaborate with management and internal partners to promote standards of clinical, educational and evidence informed practice. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

Required Qualifications:
Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support – Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). Additional Required Qualifications:
Previous experience in an adult educator. Telehealth /Contact Centre experience. Knowledge and ability to apply adult learning principles, concepts and practices Proficient at multiple teaching methodologies including e-learning, lecture, simulation. Advance knowledge of protocols, policies, standards and techniques for contact centre and professional practice. Self-directed and self-motivated. Flexible and adaptable. Well-organized. Creative thinking. Shows initiative. Able to coordinate multiple priorities. Able to counsel, coach, and mentor staff. Well-developed verbal and written communication skills. Solutions oriented problem-solving and analytical skills. Able to apply quality improvement tools and processes. Able to work collaboratively. Advanced computer skills. Able to prepare presentations and maintain staff development information using software such as PowerPoint and Excel. Preferred Qualifications:
Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing. Minimum 3 to 5 years proven leadership experience preferred. Equivalencies of education and experience will be considered.
