As a Scheduler based in our PCL Industrial Management Inc. office in Edmonton, Alberta with potential to work on site at one of our exciting projects, you will contribute to our team by:
- Assisting in the planning and scheduling process through various construction phases (preconstruction, construction, system completions, etc.);
- Retrieving, consolidating and analyzing information from various sources;
- Collaborating with field supervision on look ahead planning;
- Implementing subcontractor schedules into the master project schedule;
- Applying schedule scope changes in alignment with contract requirements;
- Identifying schedule delays, impacts and variances to the baseline; and
- Communicating plans and schedules internally and externally through effective graphs and reports.
Qualifications
What you will bring to the role:
- An Engineering Technology Diploma or Engineering Degree;
- Industry-related experience and/or experience working with direct hire trades and subcontractors
- General understanding of planning and scheduling principles, standards, practices and techniques;
- Basic knowledge of Oracle Primavera P6 and skilled in Microsoft Excel;
- Ability to extract information from construction drawings, specifications, contracts and proposal documents;
- Capacity to prioritize work under strict timelines and adaptable to changing needs;
- Inquisitive, self-starter with a keen eye for detail and an aim to learn
- Effective listening and oral communication skills (including spoken, written and visual);
- Follows up on issues to work towards solutions; and
- Comfortable working with a variety of people including estimators, field supervision, subcontractors, project management and clients.
