The Alberta Indigenous Construction Career Centre (AICCC) is a unique service designed to connect prospective Indigenous workers with employers recruiting for construction related careers. It is a partnership with , the , First Nation communities, and industry organizations.
Our services create Indigenous skills development and employment, while at the same time, assist Alberta business and industry with key human resource objectives. The AICCC responds to a business solution to address Alberta’s growth and skilled workforce shortages by engaging the resources of our Indigenous population in urban and rural communities through career development/training and Indigenous employment opportunities to support economic development.
This position provides high level administrative assistance to the Alberta Indigenous Construction Career Centre and team. With a mix of initiative, analytical skill and attention to detail, this position will support the centre in meeting it’s goals as well as many other college objectives. This position requires excellent organizational skills, prioritizing work decision making capabilities, and the interpersonal skills to manage relationships with community members accessing our services, employer partners, stakeholders and internal departments within the college. The successful candidate will be able to learn quickly and manage their task list effectively. In addition to supporting the Manager, the position will also support community members accessing services at the centre and the centre to ensure smooth operations.
How you’ll make a difference
- Serves as the primary point of contact for Indigenous community members as they access services and supports from the centre.
- Provides a full range of administrative support to the Manager and centre.
- Creates forms and tempaltes.
- Assists with processing invoices.
- Data collection and entry of information for tracking and reporting purposes.
- Oversees contract preparation, prepares PO for approval and tracks dates for renewal to ensure contracts and PO’s do not lapse.
- Assist in coordinating events for the centre.
- Responsible for records management for the department, both electronic and paper.
- Creates and formats word processing, spreadsheet and database documents using various programs (e.g. memos, letters, reports, manuals, flyers, forms, etc.).
- Identify administrative process improvements.
What you bring
- Administrative Professional Certificate or Diploma is required.
- 3-5 years related administrative experience.
- Experience working with Indigenous peoples while understanding intergenerational trauma, and the importance of healing, empowerment, education, training and holistic wellness.
- Advanced experience with MS Office, including advanced Word, advanced Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook

SALARY: $40,559 – $50,816 reflective upon what you bring. AKA your education and experience. This is a term position ending March 31, 2022 with the possibility of extension. This position is not currently eligible for participation in our extended health benefit or pension programs.
