Job description: What is the opportunity?

Based in Toronto and reporting to the Project Executive, as an experienced Intermediate Construction Planner, you will play a lead role in the delivery of large transportation projects in Ontario through a variety of procurement models, for owners such as Metrolinx, Toronto Transit Commission, and the Ministry of Transportation Ontario.

What will you do?

  • Contribute to the overall construction planning for major transportation projects.
  • Contribute to the planning and optimization of the construction schedule. Ensure proper timing, logic, durations, and compatibility of master and other schedules.
  • Contribute to the construction logistics planning, including traffic staging, construction sequence, access, and laydown.
  • Work and coordinate with the multidisciplinary design team to review and verify that proposed designs are constructible.
  • Knowledge of various construction methodologies, including but not limited to cut-and-cover construction, top-down construction, SEM construction and TBM tunnel construction.
  • Review and provide inputs into construction cost estimation to confirm quantities, identify scope gaps and opportunities for optimization.
  • Identify project risks and propose remedial solutions.
  • Working experience in project controls including cost control, performance measurement, change management, delay analysis and quantity surveying.
  • Ability to grow and maintain positive relationships with clients, external stakeholders, contractors, and other consultants. Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and meet the time demands of unpredictable activities, capable of handling pressure and challenges.
  • Work collaboratively in a team of constructability planners to deliver project scope within budget, in adherence with quality standards, and on schedule.

Requirements

What do you need to succeed?

  • Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline, preferably Civil Engineering
  • Licensed professional engineer in the Province of Ontario, Alberta, or British Columbia
  • 5 years minimum related experience in managing multi-discipline transportation projects or in heavy civil construction
  • PMP certification would be an asset
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to work with people at all levels including project stakeholders and clients
  • The ability to effectively work remotely with teams of people who may not be at your location
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities on an ongoing basis
  • Effective decision-making skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Available for occasional travel to other Entuitive offices in Canada, United States
