The Divisional Vice-President / General Manager leads a team of sales and operations managers to provide superb customer service, ever-growing client relationships within a Flagship location that meets the highest standards of presentation and selection.
Specific responsibilities include (but are not limited to) the following:
- Responsible for key decisions (current and long term) that directly impact the achievement of top-line sales and EBIT targets for the store
- Collaborate with the other Senior Executive team members to deliver on business strategy and financial results to company stakeholders
- Accountable the delivery of all payroll and expense plans within budget
- Achieve store customer service targets and resolve sensitive or highly complex customer issues
- Recruit, select, hire and on-board the best talent
- Lead, motivate, and retain a team of high-performing managers
- Communicate standards, parameters and performance goals to employees and provide coaching to behaviours that help achieve success
- Recognize and reward extraordinary performance; give feedback and develop performance improvement plans for underperforming management
- Most senior level of escalation of highly sensitive matters for employees and/or customers
- Develop a network of key industry contacts within the retail and luxury community
- Develop a clear talent and succession plan for the store, ensuring the retention of key talent
- Model leadership behaviours that promote a culture of open communication, employee development and trust
- Partner with the Store Support Centre divisional leads in the creation of the store’s annual plan focusing on customer and associate development strategies and actions
- Leads senior sales management team to develop, maintain and grow active client bases within their areas
- Drive the implementation of customer relationship and Loyalty management programming
- Partner with Divisional merchant leads and Inventory Planning to drive the best assortments for the location in order to maximize sell-through and inventory turn-over
- Partner on the identification and introduction of new brands or leased businesses within the market
- Achieve Asset Prevention targets
- Drive logistics and smooth operation of back-of-house functions including Cash Office, Alterations Workrooms, Maintenance and Shipping /Receiving
- Ensure that store meets or exceeds all Visual presentation and merchandising standards
The ideal candidate:
- Post-secondary degree in a related field or equivalent work experience
- 10+ years of post-university work experience, including a minimum of 5+ years leading a business unit or enterprise-wide strategy
- Previous retail experience, preferably within a luxury environment
- Demonstrated leadership and influencing skills with the ability to get things done
- Excellent interpersonal skills; a team player who is able to act as both a leader and an individual contributor as required
- Confident and effective communication (written & verbal) and interpersonal skills
- Is adaptable and comfortable with ambiguity and change
- Passionate about fashion and luxury retailing
