Are you passionate about providing collaborative care on an acute care medical unit specializing in renal medicine and managing new and complex diabetics? We’re looking for a Licensed Practical Nurse who can demonstrate past practice of excellence in nursing care delivery, interpersonal and patient and family-centered care. We require a self-directed individual with a positive attitude and demonstrated excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills, evidenced by performance appraisals, work experience and reference checks. As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you are part of a collaborative care health care team on a 36-bed renal medicine, diabetes and general medicine unit working to the full scope of practice with critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. You will be guided by your education, experience, demonstrated skill level and AHS policies and procedures. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family-centred care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS. Required Qualifications:
Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support – Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). Additional Required Qualifications:
Experience in acute care within the last three years is essential. Preference will be given to those with experience providing care and teaching to renal and diabetic patients and those who have PD experience. Applicants must also be up to the full scope of practice. Preferred Qualifications:
Immediate experience in medical units is preferred.
