Job description: The County of Lambton is an urban-rural area in southwestern Ontario that is home to over 126,000 residents. Position Overview
Completes filling of shifts for approximately 400 employees for short call and advanced booking absences. This includes arranging and scheduling time off for employees and ensuring vacant shifts are filled to meet staffing requirements and collective agreement parameters using the Departmental Staffing Guidelines procedures and electronic scheduling software.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Communication with Ward Clerks and Supervisors regarding changes to shifts, vacant shifts
- Create and receive Scheduling Handover reports
- Monitor short call-in box/calls and action any shift filling
- Process shifts changes, mutual
- Receive absence calls, leave requests
- Filing related to scheduling
- Complete various communications according to templates
- Printing rosters etc.
- Pull reports related to scheduling and workforce analytics
- Assist with payroll tracking as necessary
General:
- Incumbents must keep up-to-date on all relevant legislation, collective bargaining agreements, County Policies and Procedures, etc. ensuring that these are implemented as prescribed.
- Incumbents must possess the physical ability to meet the duties and responsibilities of the job description and/or the requirements identified within the position’s Physical Demands Analysis.

Qualifications
Minimum Formal Education
- Completion of Grade 12
Experience
- Must possess diplomacy, tact, and communication (verbal and written) skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft office software programs
