Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient-centred clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.

Position Overview

Participates as a member of the portfolio in a manner that contributes to teamwork and collaboration.

Organizes and prioritizes independently, the administrative activities for the Coordinator and Critical Care Clinical Educators, and ensures that all work is completed within established timeframes.

Takes initiative to handle matters and solve administrative problems not requiring the direct personal attention of the supervisor/s while keeping the supervisors/s informed of all potential problems.

Supports the administration of the Winnipeg Critical Care Nursing Education Program (WCCNEP) including (but not limited to) intake of students, scheduling of interviews, maintaining confidential records, preparing and distributing course materials and scheduling of programming.

Experience

Five years directly related experience.

Experience in scheduling and coordinating meetings required.

Previous health care experience would be an asset.

Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)

Complete high school education Manitoba standards, required.

Formal training in applied office skills required.

A combination of education and experience may be considered.

Qualifications and Skills

Proficiency with computerized systems (Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint) is essential.

Experience with email and computerized calendars.

Typing speed 65 wpm.

Ability to compose correspondence on behalf of senior managers.

Experience recording and preparing minutes and agendas.

Excellent communication skills, verbally and in writing.

Ability to prioritize a large workload and independently complete a variety of administrative duties.

Ability to work in a fast paced environment and work effectively under pressure to meet deadlines.

Demonstrated problem-solving skills.

Demonstrated ability to effectively contribute to a team environment.

Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.

Physical Requirements

Required to work for long periods of time at a computer.

The Collective Agreement this position is covered under, is identified by the Union noted above.
