Job description: We (Discovery Community College) currently have an opening for an individual to join our dynamic team as an Administrative Assistant to our Director of Education.

This position is responsible for assisting in the managing, updating, and distribution of curriculum material and documentation in all programs. The successful applicant will also be required to manage all aspects of the various surveys of students and other stakeholders (administer, coordinate, track, collect, and summarize). Rigorous attention to detail and the ability to work with minimal supervision is required.

There may be other duties required from time to time e.g. helping with relevant policies and procedures.

The Administrative Assistant works with confidential student and College information and must adhere to all DCC guidelines as well as the guidelines and standards of various regulatory organizations.

This is a 32-40 hr a week position, depending on availability.

Knowledge

  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office 365
  • Knowledge of computing in the cloud, especially MS OneDrive, MS Teams, and Dropbox
  • Excellent knowledge of the English language (especially written)

Skills & Abilities

  • Excellent skill with Microsoft Office 365 especially MS Word
  • Excellent skills with MS Office 365 and OneDrive and Teams (cloud computing and remote working)
  • Maintain confidentiality of records and information
  • Work with detailed information at a high level of accuracy
  • Use initiative, prioritize workload, meet deadlines, set targets, solve problems, and adapt to change
  • Use effective time management and be able to work independently while adhering to deadlines
  • Organize the work environment for effective and efficient outcomes
  • Use on-line and web-based applications for research
  • Follow instruction and work independently and remotely
  • Communicate very effectively, both orally and in writing

Education or Experience

  • Degree/Certificate/Diploma in related field and/or
  • Minimum of 2 years related Administration experience
