The Haskayne School of Business at the University of Calgary is seeking an Administrative Coordinator to support the construction of a consortium in the field of Digitization for Innovative Supply Chains (DISC) at the development and operation phases. This is a casual position. The consortium is intended to be a set of companies and organizations from various industries which have interest in collaborative research and training activities to generate knowledge and expertise in the field of DISC.
We are looking for an individual who is efficient and comfortable being a member of a team, who can take initiatives while working independently and managing administrative support, and who can create and maintain good relationships with industry partners. The ideal candidate for this job is resourceful, organized and has excellent communication skills.
The Administrative Coordinator will work 8 hours per week on average and from a remote location of their choice. The successful candidate will have regular interactions and communications with the Program Coordinators of DISC and attend in-person meetings with the consortium partners when necessary within Calgary, AB, and the surrounding areas.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities
The main responsibilities of the Administrative Coordinator include:
- Support the Program Coordinators with identifying and approaching consortium partners
- Liaise with consortium partners regarding meetings, documents, and project progress
- Respond to questions and requests for information from (potential) consortium partners
- Prepare the Consortium Agreement together with the Legal & Intellectual Property (IP) team of University of Calgary
- Create and facilitate Research Agreements with consortium partners and the Legal & IP team
- Present an overview of possible grant programs suitable for specific research projects at consortium partners
- Administrative duties (e.g., set up funding accounts, process scholarship payments to students)
- Support the student recruitment process for projects
Qualification Requirements and Skills
The required qualifications and skills for this position include:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
- Proficiency in MS Office with expertise in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Detail oriented and be able to multi-task when needed
- Comfortable to work independently based on general directions
- Exceptional communication skills
- Superior organization skills and dedication to completing tasks in a timely manner
- Show initiative and come up with (innovative) ideas to flourish the consortium
