The Workforce Innovation and Skills Training Division is responsible for analyzing labour market demand and conditions across all of the sectors in B.C.’s diverse economy and recommending strategies and approaches to meet B.C.’s training needs for the ever-evolving labour market. This is accomplished with the participation with B.C. sectors, labour and business leaders. The Division leads engagement and consultation with sectors to inform ongoing labour market challenges and training needs. The Division also administers skills training programs and oversees trades training policy.

The Client Engagement Unit, part of the Labour Market Insights, Evaluation and Outreach Branch, is responsible for the WorkBC.ca website, including the WorkBC Job Board, and all related products and services, as well as public engagement and dissemination of, career and labour market resources. The unit works closely with a network of ministries and stakeholders to achieve objectives.

Reporting to the Director, Client Engagement, the manager provides strategic direction for the development, maintenance and performance management of the WorkBC website, including delivery and improvements of new digital projects. The manager oversees a team of two professionals, including a senior project management analyst and a business applications advisor.

Job Requirements:
In order to be considered for this position, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experience as outlined below:

  • Degree in business administration, communications or public administration or a related field. OR an equivalent combination of education and professional experience may be considered.
  • A minimum of (2) two years’ experience developing and maintaining digital products and services for the web, including troubleshooting system issues and implementing large-scale improvements.
  • A minimum of (2) two years’ experience independently managing several complex projects that have multiple project delivery components.
  • A minimum of (1) one-year experience supervising staff and/or managing the work of consultants.
  • Experience in financial management, procurement, and contract and vendor management.
  • Experience developing web solutions including, managing all aspects of product development, including User Acceptance Testing and Quality Assurance Analysis.
  • Experience working with multiple stakeholders and partnerships.

Preference may be given to applicants with one or more of the following:

  • Experience with leading strategic initiatives that deliver new and innovative digital products and services.
  • Experience developing comprehensive, impact-oriented, user-centred products and services.
