AECOM is looking for Archaeological Field Supervisors to be based out of multiple Ontario offices.

Minimum Requirements

  • BA/BS in archaeology or related field + 6 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
  • Valid Research or Professional class license issued by the Ontario Ministry of Heritage, Sport, Tourism & Culture Industries
  • Valid Drivers License

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1+ field seasons independently supervising teams during Stage 2-4 archaeological assessments under own issued Research License required
  • Must be able to perform strenuous archaeological fieldwork in all weather conditions (lift 40 lbs & be capable of repetitive movement)
  • Experience operating high precision GPS & Total Station equipment and data recording programs (i.e., Fulcrum & ArcGIS Collector)
  • Firm understanding of MHSTCI Standards and Guidelines for Consultant Archaeologists.
  • Artifact identification skills & experience for the identification of both Indigenous & Euro-Canadian material
  • Expected to prioritize & lead in health & safety & follow all AECOM procedures including strict Covid-19 measures
  • First Aid Certification an asset
  • Ability to work out of town within Ontario for extended periods of time
  • Sensitivity & awareness combined with a respectful attitude towards Indigenous culture & people is a must. Collaboration in a team environment is key
  • Reliable transportation to & from assigned office or designated project meet spot essential
  • Be responsible & understand the production rate of the field team & work within
  • Motivate field teams in challenging conditions to complete the assigned work
  • Willingness to continually learn & take direction from Field & Office Managers
  • Provide clear & accurate communication regarding field discoveries, field strategies, & staff
