Job description: Baker (Production Labour) – Full-time Employment

Weston Foods, North York, ON

WAGE: Starting from $16.90 per hour with a shift premium ($0.90 premium for all hours worked between 10:00 pm – 6:00 am), OT available.

SHIFTS AVAILABLE: Morning – 8 Hour shifts, flexibility is required with working overtime and on weekends, as necessary.

Night Shift Schedules are from 4 am- 12 pm, 5 am- 1 pm, 6 am- 2 pm and 7 am- 3 pm, PLEASE NOTE THE FLEXIBILITY IS REQUIRED TO WORK WITHIN ALL MENTIONED SHIFT TIMINGS DEPENDING UPON PRODUCTION NEEDS ON WEEKLY BASIS.

Our General Production labourers are an integral part of the baking process, ensuring our delicious baked goods are packaged, and safely end up on grocery store shelves and at your favorite restaurants across North America.

Our Hafis Bakery is a beautiful mix of art and technology, employing bakers to hand shape specialty breads for our major customers.

In a typical day, you’ll:

Assist in all areas of the production process of baked goods including;

• Cutting dough and placing dough products on trays and boards.
• Lifting up to 40 pounds comfortably and with consistency.
• Shape, make-up and add a variety toppings to product.
• Moving racks of products to various areas of the bakery.
• Operate dividing machinery to cut and shape product.
• Score/shape product coming off the operating line.
• Ensure products meets the quality standards set out
• Ensure that work area is clean and safe at all times.
• Assisting colleagues as required in other areas of the bakery
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

About You:

• A lover of bread and baked goods!
• You should be comfortable with consistent lifting up to 40 pounds.
• You have strong people skills—you’re approachable, a good listener, and empathetic
• You have previously worked in a manufacturing environment (even better if it was food manufacturing!)
• You’re dedicated to the health and safety of yourself and your colleagues
• You digest constructive feedback as an opportunity to improve your skills, abilities, and performance
• You are someone who listens to comprehend a situation first, asking questions to clarify your own understanding.
