Job description: , creators of Cluny Bistro, El Catrin, Pure Spirits Oyster House & Grill, Archeo Trattoria, Madrina Bar y Tapas, District Pizza and Distillery Events (the Fermenting Cellar and The Distillery District – Loft) are seeking experienced and motivated Bartenders with a passion for creating a flawless dining experience every guest. The ideal candidate not only understands that exceptional guest service is at the heart of hospitality but that they are an ambassador to Toronto’s unique food and beverage culture.

Our Bartenders provide beautifully crafted cocktails to our guests in a high volume, fast-paced environment. They have exceptional understanding of mixology and quality control – with a notable passion and desire to learn more about agave spirits and mezcals. They have a flair for mixing beautiful cocktails (flair bartending not required) and a friendly smile for guests and colleagues alike.

What you’ll be doing:

• Lead team by example to exhibit, encourage and motivate the DRC’s beliefs and core values
• Demonstrate a complete working knowledge of the drinks menu and ingredients
• Ensure all beverage descriptions, promotions and any other information are clearly communicated to guests and team members
• Check identification to ensure all guests are of age to consume alcohol
• Mix ingredients, garnish glasses and serve alcoholic and/or non-alcoholic beverages to guests in a timely manner
• Accommodate guest allergies and special requests accordingly
• Process payments; provide accurate billing and support documents for any Credit Card(s), Gift Card(s), Gift Certificate(s), etc. accurately and efficiently
• Maintain a clean work station while adhering to food safety, sanitation and hygiene guidelines set by the Public Health Department and the Company
• Other duties as assigned or required

What we would like you to bring to the bar:

• EXPERIENCE. Minimum one (1) year of bartending experience in a fast-paced restaurant environment. Experience with a point-of-sale system, preferably Silverware, is considered an asset.
• TRAINING. Possessing a valid Smart Serve certification is a requirement. Any related training certifications are highly valued.
• COMMUNICATION SKILLS. Bartenders must be able to carefully listen to orders, explain food and beverage items and make recommendations.
• ADAPTABILITY. Our ideal candidate can work in a fast-paced, changing environment with ease.
• SOLUTION-ORIENTED. We’re looking for a strong problem solver with an insatiable desire to positively impact the experience of our guests and restaurant reviews.
• EDUCATION. A degree/diploma in food and beverage, hospitality management is considered an asset.
