About the Opportunity
Reporting to the Health Services Lead and working as part of the collaborative family practice team, the Booking and Registration Clerk is responsible for the registration of all clinic patients; for the scheduling and communicating of patient appointments; for the coordination of health records for the clinic visit; for gathering and entering of information for family practice statistics and for assisting in the general organization and efficiency of the family practice. This position requires working in an electronic medical record (EMR) – Telus MedAcces
About You
- Grade 12 plus one year of related experience, OR graduation from a recognized secretarial / office administration / business program
- Computer skills (MS Office, Outlook and internet)
- Minimum typing speed of 45wpm preferred
- Experience working with electronic medical records preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology is an asset
- Must be able to function independently and with other team members in a fast-paced collaborative team setting
- Demonstrated verbal communication, accuracy and speed skills
- Coordination, organization and decision making skills
- Ability to learn and work quickly and be adaptable to change
- Competencies in other languages preferred, French an asset
