Job description: Adecco is currently recruiting for a Business Architect – Intermediate for a 12-Month contract with the possibility of extension. Initially will be done remote, however, after the Client decides to resume onsite work, contractors MUST be available onsite in Ottawa, ON. The successful candidate must hold a valid Reliability Security Clearance or be eligible for one.

Reporting to the Business Domain Architect (“BDA”), the Business Architect collaborates with the Business Solution Delivery team (“BSD”) in a key role in transforming the business. You will work with senior management in both business and IT to develop an integrated view of the enterprise that aligns planning and investments with business strategy, and that improves business efficiency by identifying change opportunities. The Business Architect facilitates the negotiation of requirements among multiple stakeholders to a common understanding across teams. The Business Architect bridges the needs of the business partners with the use of IT and identifies options for designing and improving business systems.

The Business Architect will have the following responsibilities: * Evaluate the impact of key investments on the business capabilities of the organization through key views that describe the organization

• Steward business ideas and investments through the planning phases of the idea and evaluate the strategic importance, priority and impact of the investment
• Describe the primary business functions of the enterprise from the perspectives of the customer, shipper and business operations.
• Identify and describe external entities such as customers, shippers, and external systems that interact with the business; and describe which people, resources and controls are involved in the processes.

The Business Architect must meet the following mandatory requirements: * Academic: university degree in business or information systems or equivalent experience or combination thereof

• Minimum 3 years Agile IT experience
• JIRA – MIRO – Sharepoint and MS Office knowledge.
• Strong communication and facilitation skills, ability to influence
• Critical thinking, problem solving and analytical skills.
• Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build relationships as well as managing and resolving conflict
• Experience modeling business processes using a variety of tools and techniques
• Strategy, Roadmap, and Planning skills

Nice to have: * Experience in contributing to the success of a range of small-to-medium initiatives with escalating levels of complexity and business criticality

• Business knowledge and experience in Mobile, Cloud technologies
• Business knowledge and experience with operations, distribution, last mile delivery and postal, courier or logistics industries
• Has practiced Customer-centric design frameworks such as Design Thinking, Design Sprints, Journey Mapping
• Graduate degree in Business Administration (MBA)
• Certifications: Certified business analysis professional (CBAP), BABOK, ITIL foundations, Project Management Professional (PMP), TOGAF certification
