We are seeking a Business Development and Merketing Coordinator to support our Contracts team by providing coordination to the Business Development and Marketing function while supporting the research and identification of project opportunities for tender development. This position will play a crucial role in finding growth opportunities within the mining sector.
You will be responsible for coordinating and supporting various aspects of the business development process, enabling us to identify and secure new opportunities. The ideal candidate will be an independent thinker who thrives on being curious and resourceful. The ability to work independently in a sustainable and organized manner is key to being successful in this role.

Responsibilities
What You’ll Be Doing
Research
- Monitor and report on new mining projects, business development activities and industry events/developments.
- Conduct in-depth research on the mining industry, including market trends, competitor analysis, and potential clients. Provide regular reports and insights to the management team.
- Support the identification and utilization of industry specific resources to research new opportunities for management to evaluate from established opportunity databases.
- Identify and target potential clients, mining projects, and partnership opportunities through various channels, including online research.
- Participate in meetings to review active and new projects, review action items and develop action plans to pursue projects.
- Maintain and report on a Client Relationship Management (CRM) database that tracks contact, communication, and perceptions of key executive, operations, and contracts/procurement personnel in the oil sands mining, oil sands in-situ, and non-oil sands mining industries.
Administration
- Assist with General Ledger (GL) accountability for budget, forecast, and reporting on variances to actual for expenditures related to business development activities.
- Assist in designing, implementing, monitoring and reporting on a process that targets our key clients and industries.
- Support strategic planning activities and processes, in conjunction with strategic planning roles within the business, which identifies revenue and growth opportunities’ and prioritizes areas of focus for our business development and estimating efforts.
- Maintain databases of projects and clients including summary information, project progression, NACG contact history and follow up actions to manage opportunities and enable management reporting.
- Prepare regular reports on business development activities, progress towards targets, and market trends for presentation to the estimating team.
- Support marketing initiatives including social media, special events, conferences, print and online material, and reports.
Coordinate
- Participate in identifying key contacts within potential client and EPC organizations and as assigned make first contact to introduce them to NACG with a goal to becoming pre-qualified to tender upcoming projects.
- Assist in setting up client introduction meetings with NACG management, operations or estimating staff as part of project tender development activities.
Qualifications
What Makes You the One
- Post-secondary education in Business, Commerce, Engineering or Marketing.
- Three years’ experience in a senior level administrative position, preferably, within a marketing or business development work environment.
- One year of business development experience related to construction, mining and/or oil & gas industry.
- Previous experience to contract administration, preferably in large construction projects.
- Strong organization and administrative skills, including the ability to work independently with minimal direction and supervision.
- Construction, Mining and/or Oil Sands industry knowledge and contacts considered a strong asset.
- Ability to think strategically and identify value creation opportunities
- Exceptional interpersonal relationship skills.
- Ability to develop and maintain excellent working relationships with both internal and external clients.
