Job title: Civil Construction Inspector

Job description: Vector Engineering is seeking an individual with civil construction experience to join their team as a part- or full-time inspector. This position will involve working closely with our design team consisting of Design Technologists, Project Managers and Engineers to successfully implement various construction projects throughout the Lower Mainland. The successful applicant must possess a valid driver’s license and use their personal vehicle for inspections. Mileage will be reimbursed.

Job Duties

• Perform field inspections as required for compliance with standards and approved practice.

• Preparation of daily and weekly inspection reports using Microsoft Word.

• Liaise with clients, municipal staff, contractors and the general public.

• Attend site meetings with clients, contractors and municipal staff and record meeting minutes.

• Ensure compliance with local municipal standards and specification.

• Coordinate and communicate promptly with all parties.

• Prepare Inspector Prints.

• Assist with the review of the as-constructed drawings to ensure accuracy.

• Provision of contract administration services to support the project managers and senior design staff.

• Possess knowledge of MMCD and related municipal standards and specifications

• Understand the obligations of the parties under CCDC Stipulated Price or Unit Price Contracts, as well as the expectations of the contractor according to the Company’s standard contract document.
