University Health Network (UHN) is looking for an experienced professional to fill the key role of Clinical Research Analyst in the Ted Rogers Computational Program.

University Health Network (UHN) is a research hospital affiliated with the University of Toronto and a member of the Toronto Academic Health Science Network. The scope of research and complexity of cases at UHN have made it a national and international source for discovery, education and patient care. Research across UHN’s seven research institutes spans the full spectrum of diseases and disciplines, including cancer, cardiovascular sciences, transplantation, neural and sensory sciences, musculoskeletal health, rehabilitation sciences, and community and population health. .
The Ted Rogers Centre for Heart Research is a collaborative research and education program that spans across UHN, the Hospital for Sick Children and the University of Toronto. It seeks to provide the world with new diagnoses, treatments, and tools to help people prevent, manage, and survive the devastating consequences of heart failure. It also provides global leadership in the cardiac field and offers multiple research and clinical educational opportunities and training. As part of this Centre, the Ted Rogers Computational Program (TRCP) are currently recruiting a highly qualified Clinical Research Analyst. We are seeking an energetic individual to join our team and facilitate human subject research and quality improvement projects. Duties will including screening, communication and consent discussions with participants, data collection, data abstraction, database building and maintenance, data management, coding and analysis. Responsibilities also include research ethics board submissions, regulatory file maintenance, and ensuring compliance with hospital policies, departmental guidelines and professional standards of practice.
Qualifications:
- At minimum, a Bachelor’s degree in a health or science-related discipline or equivalent
- Minimum one (1) year of appropriate clinical and/or professional experience
- Demonstrated knowledge of applicable research regulations and guidelines such as ICH/GCP and Tri-Council Policy
- Previous experience with cardiovascular clinical research preferred
- Previous experience working directly with study participants including informed consent discussions
- Experience with electronic medial record systems and data abstraction
- Fluency with REDCap database software including database creation and advanced features
- Minimum (1) year experience using SAS or R software to perform simple data coding and analysis
- Demonstrated attention to detail
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills
- Ability to multi-task and perform in a fast-paced environment
- Well developed leadership skills; self-motivated
- Ability to work well independently and in a team environment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Mentor/training experience is an asset
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent listening, conflict resolution skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Software (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Client service oriented, with the ability to effectively work with diversity and appreciate that people with different opinions, backgrounds and characteristics bring richness to the challenge or situation at hand
