Job description: Our client is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Commercial Construction Site Superintendent with Secret Clearance. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the successful execution of construction projects and ensuring compliance with safety regulations and project specifications. Your exceptional organizational and communication skills will be crucial in coordinating various stakeholders and maintaining efficient project schedules.
Responsibilities: * Serve as a liaison between the Construction Manager, Construction Project Managers, Project Coordinators, Mechanical and Electrical Coordinators, other Site Superintendents, Architects and Sub-Consultants, Interior Designers, Clients, Client Project Managers, employees, Administration Office, and other employees of the company.
- Collaborate with the Construction Management team, Architectural and Engineering consulting team, and all stakeholders to ensure clients’ expectations are met.
- Ensure strict adherence to the company’s Health and Safety Policy and Site-Specific Safety Plans on all projects.
- Review project drawings and specifications with the Project Manager, Project Coordinator, Contract Administrator, and Estimator to integrate tasks into the project schedule.
- Assist the Project Manager and Construction Management Team in developing a comprehensive project schedule, including daily review and weekly updates of the critical path for effective construction issue management.
- Identify any scheduling inefficiencies in the project schedule and propose improvements.
- Monitor, forecast, and manage subcontractor and material suppliers’ progress to ensure adherence to schedule targets.
- Ensure all subcontractors perform work according to industry standards and project specifications of quality.
- Provide a Daily Site Report, including photos, to demonstrate progress aligned with the project schedule and identify any construction issues to the Construction Management Team. Initiate Request for Information (RFI) as required.
- Coordinate with the Building Department and local authorities to ensure all required inspections take place.
- Review and approve time sheets submitted by subcontractors (or work by own forces) based on the Time & Material basis.
- Manage project completion deficiencies and assist the Construction Management Team in completing necessary documents.
- Attend production meetings.
- Maintain and update construction drawings for any changes to the work.
- Collect Job Safety Analysis (JSA) forms from workers before starting work each day.
Requirements:
- Must have Secret Level Security Clearance
- Minimum 7+ years of site supervision experience
- Experience in commercial renovations.
- Strong understanding and knowledge in occupational health and safety regulation
- Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment.
- Prepare schedules, work progress, production and other reports
- Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of systems and equipment
- Coordinate trades and materials scheduling with PM·
- Monitor progress on site, maintain constant contact with PM to keep schedule on track·
- Track & resolve deficiencies in a timely manner which may require performing handyman services to ensure minor repairs and deficiencies are resolved
- Find solutions to problems that stop others from forging ahead.
- Proven experience as a Site Superintendent or similar role in the construction industry.
- Extensive knowledge of construction processes, safety regulations, and quality standards.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively coordinate and collaborate with various stakeholders.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills to identify and address construction issues proactively.
- Proficient in using construction management software and tools.
- Ability to adapt to changing project requirements and work under pressure.
