About the client and role
A vibrant architectural based in Toronto led by experienced principals with expertise in healthcare projects (LTC, senior, mental health, labs) seek an experienced contract administrator. Reporting to one of the principals specialized in CA, you will join a team of two other full-time CAs and be responsible for site visits and contract documentation for an assigned territory. Working with the Partners and Project Architects, the CCA ensures high-quality technical standards are met. After 1-2 years you may be able to return to a design based role. Firm is always flexible.
What they are looking for
- Minimum 5-7 years of Canadian experience; Architectural Technologist, PMP, or Bachelor of Architecture credentials; preference to candidates with CCCA training from the CSC or OAA registered candidates
- Must visit office 2-3 times a months
- Minimum 2+ years full-time CA experience in Canada; ability to travel to sites; occasionally stay overnight
- Lead and monitor medium to large projects from construction to close-out; a PDF sheet of projects from the past 5 years, ideally HC-related, condos, or institutional projects
- Solid OBC and building science fundamentals; ability to provide design feedback and anticipate design issues to suggest substitutions that meet design specifications
- Must know Revit; preference to candidates with experience using software (such as Rform) to deal with contract related documentation; preference to candidates with CCDC-5B experience
- Ensure high-quality drawings and documentation to reduce rework, errors and omissions
- Strong trouble-shooting; the ability to deal with headstrong personalities, understand their needs, and solve evolving design needs that meet budget and timelines
- Working knowledge of Revit; Bluebeam, PM software such as Wrike; experience in cloud based CCA software such as Rform
- Valid G driver’s license
- Up to date COVID vaccination record
