Job title: Construction Labourer – Finishing stage

Job description: Coughlan Homes is seeking an individual to fill the one-year contract role of a Construction Labourer – Finishing stage. Reporting directly to the Site Superintendent and Site Head Labourer, the labourer is responsible to assist with the various functions relevant to the daily activities on a construction site in the finishing stages.

Finishing Stages Responsibilities and Requirements:

• Prep houses for finishing trades such as Tile, Trim, Paint, Kitchens and Flooring
• Keep houses in a safe and clean condition
• Clean and protect flooring and stairs
• Prep houses for PDI and Closings

Other Responsibilities and Requirements that may be required:

• Prep construction sites by cleaning obstacles and hazards from unwanted construction debris and waste
• Operate and care for construction equipment and machines.
• Help other skilled labourers when necessary
• Placement and removal of straw for frost protection of footings and basements during winter months
• Load, move and unload various construction materials as required

Qualifications:

• Ability to work in a physical environment, including repetitive movements (sweeping, shoveling) and lifting/carrying of moderately heavy items.
• Experience as a labourer in the construction industry would be an asset, with the ability to use hand and power tools
• Construction Experience preferred
• Must be punctual and reliable
• Must have own Personal Protective Equipment including hardhats and CSA Approved Steel toe boots
• Able to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions
• Minimum valid G2 driver’s licence would be an asset
• Other duties as assigned by site superintendents
