As a Construction Modeling Coordinator for our Atlantic Canada Office in Halifax, NS and Cape Breton, NS, you will contribute to our team by:
- Executing Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) activities at a project level and/or for project pursuits.
- Building virtual models from 2D set of drawings.
- Assisting the project team with the development of construction-site logistics models.
- Producing lift drawings and coordination drawings from original documentation.
- Identifying clashes between various trades and communicating to the project team.
- Producing and maintaining 3D models and 4D schedules.
- Changing drawings and cleaning up drawings by removing unwanted information or adding information.
- Supporting the construction modeling team with the trade contractor model-coordination process and report to project management team, as required.
- Other duties as required.
Qualifications
What you will bring to the role:
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in a related field (e.g. architecture, engineering, architectural technology, etc.).
- 1-2 years of experience in a similar role.
- Drafting and 3D modeling experience, which could include Revit and AutoCAD.
- Experience in coordination / 4D Software (BIM Track, Navisworks, Synchro, Fuzor).
- Ability to translate 2D drawings and specifications into complete 3D/4D Construction Models.
- General understanding of construction sequences.
- Ability to read construction schedules (P6) and understand the scope.
- Experience coordinating with trades and other teammates.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Working Knowledge of Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Strong willingness to learn and to stay current with new technology.
- Rendering software (Lumion, Enscape) knowledge is an asset.
