Job title: Construction Project Assistant

Job description: JCB Construction Canada is a leader in the construction industry in Québec, with offices in Toronto and Newfoundland. Specialized in the management and execution of commercial, industrial, institutional, and multi-residential construction work, we carry out large-scale projects across the country for numerous SMEs, large companies, corporations, and private institutions.

We are currently looking for a Construction Project Assistant for our Toronto office.

ESTIMATION

  • Assemble tender documents according to specified criteria
  • Regularly update the plan room
  • Transmit bid invitations to subcontractors and ensure a follow-up
  • Communicate changes (addenda) to subcontractors
  • Contact subcontractors by email and telephone when necessary
  • Print plans and addenda
  • Verify receipt of all documents requested in the tender documents
  • Obtain all documents requested for compliance (insurance certificates, bonds, etc.)

PROJECT MANAGEMENT

  • Receive, transmit and follow-up plans, instructions, and any other documents related to project coordination
  • Monitor workshop drawings and update the tracking table
  • Open and coordinate amendments
  • Verify and process subcontractors’ invoices in accordance with the budget
  • Draft subcontractors’ contracts in accordance with bids
  • Open a project file, record its budget following the client’s approval, and ensure that all the necessary documentation is completed
  • Make the required requests to Ontario One Call, WHSC, etc.
  • Prepare construction permit applications and all required documentation
  • Request, verify, and prepare the end of work documents
  • Process all required requests for temporary occupation of the public domain
  • Other tasks related to project management and estimation

Profil

  • Excellent communication skills (spoken and written) in English, French is an asset
  • College diploma in office administration or relevant field
  • 2 to 5 years experience in a similar position
  • Superior computer skills in MS Office
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage priorities
