Job Description
In this full-time permanent role, you will be a champion of .
Duties & Responsibilities include:
- Perform construction assurance and compliance activities on the assigned Projects,
- Support Project teams to develop Safe Work Procedures and to implement effectively for the safe execution of the works,
- Perform formal inspections and audits to ensure compliance with the relevant OHS legislation, standards and contract requirements,
- Provide day to day oversight for on-site construction work conducted by contractors to assess contractor compliance against the relevant OHSA legislation and contract requirements, support with the identification of hazards and implementation of risk mitigation controls,
- Review site activities and provide support for the protection of workers as well as public, infrastructure and operations,
- Engage, coordinate and work with Integrated Project Team and internal/external stakeholders to provide consistent and continuous support,
- In collaboration with the Integrated Project team, review, analyze and outline construction activities and work areas to ensure safe and efficient delivery,
- Participate and/or support others with incident investigations, including follow up actions to ensure implementation of identified corrective actions,
- Assist the Safety Director and Safety team with other tasks as required.
Qualifications
- 5 to 7 years’ experience in heavy civil/earthwork and/or railway construction safety
- Strong working knowledge of Ontario OHSA Act and Regulations with an enhanced level of knowledge and experience in construction requirements.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Experience in managing multitasks and multiple priorities within time frames
- Ability to establish collaborative and effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- NCSO or other designation is preferred.
- To be at site and/or project office in Toronto 5 days a week.
