About the Role

Credit Analyst
Full-time

Somerville, NB

The Credit Analyst is responsible for contributing to the resolution of accounts working collaboratively with customers as well as across functions of the business. Your responsibility is to collect outstanding moneys to increase our Working Capital. This position is all about communication and relationship building.

How You’ll Help

  • Maintain a portfolio of accounts, based on a thorough understanding of the pricing, rates, billings, sales and operations related to the Company
  • Corporate – serves all divisions across all departments – juggling stakeholders internal and external
  • Work with Lead Credit Analyst to identify and develop strategies for the resolution of troubled accounts to minimize loss
  • Resolve collection issues via phone, email, 3rd party payment houses, etc.
  • Collaborate across departments; including Sales, Operations, Pricing and Rates, to identify problems. With the involvement of Lead Credit Analyst, work to remove barriers and find solutions to ensure the collection of outstanding invoices
  • Monitor daily and forecast results to ensure alignment with established targets
  • Participate in or host conference calls and/or meetings to correct and align internal stakeholders with external customers
  • Work with a team to identify and develop strategies for the resolution of invoice discrepancies to minimize DSO (days sales outstanding)
  • Interpret customer contracts
  • Other related duties as may be required.

Your Skills & Experience:

  • Post-secondary education in business administration, accounting or related field
  • A suitable combination of education and experience may be considered
  • 1-3 years’ experience in a credit/collections role, preferably in the transportation industry
  • Adjudication experience an asset
  • A suitable combination of education and experience may be considered
  • Strong MS Suite skills; Outlook, Excel & Word; must possess the aptitude for learning new programs; AS400 – an asset; ability to learn new programs/platforms
  • Exceptional customer service focus and relationship building skills
  • Resiliency and persistence to resolve outstanding AR between external and internal stakeholders while maintaining the customer relationship
  • Effective communication skills, verbal and written; persuasive, confident, with ability to articulate an appropriate message to various audiences clearly and concisely
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, including the ability to work under pressure in a fast paced setting while managing multiple customers
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a deadline driven environment; appropriate sense of urgency
  • Ability to work independently and to collaborate with others to meet customer expectations
  • Maintain composure under high-pressure situations and difficult conversations
  • Ability to understand transportation documentation and verbiage
  • English, other languages an asset
  • Individual contributor
