The Data Analyst for the Guelph Family Health Study and Family Stress Study will be responsible for managing study databases and conducting data analyses. Both studies are longitudinal cohort study of families with young children, designed to identify early-life risk factors of chronic disease and to develop and test family-based strategies to support healthful behaviours early in life.
Major responsibilities of the Data Analyst position include:
- Manage study database, which includes numerous sources of data, e.g., surveys, health assessments, blood tests
- Data management and quality control of study data
- Support undergraduate and graduate students to access study data, develop and implement analytic plans
- Conduct data analyses and prepare written reports of results, including but not limited to:
- General and Generalized Linear Modelling
- Analysis of correlated data
- Hierarchical Modelling and analysis of longitudinal data
The requirements of this position include:
- Master’s or PhD and some prior relevant experience
- Strong data management skills
- Strong R and SAS data manipulation, analysis, and reporting skills
- Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work with an interdisciplinary team
Preferred experience:
- Minimum of 2 years managing datasets/databases
- Minimum of 2 years analyzing complex datasets
